Membership...
Soroptimist International of Willimantic is a
volunteer service organization for women in business, management and
the professions, who contribute time and financial support to
community based projects. There are three classes of membership;
regular, retired/unemployed and embarking.
If you are an
accomplished business or professional woman who wishes to provide
volunteer service in an atmosphere of support, friendship and fun,
then joining Soroptimist may be right for you. Please
email us or fill out our
membership form and
we will be happy to
contact you about becoming a member of our club.
If you live or work in one of the following
Connecticut towns, Willimantic, Windham, Willington, Mansfield,
Columbia, Lebanon, Canterbury, Scotland, Hampton, Chaplin, Ashford,
Coventry, Andover, Hebron, Eastford, Woodstock, Pomfret or Brooklyn,
we invite you to become a member of Soroptimist International of
Willimantic. Through Soroptimist membership, you'll have the opportunity to
realize personal fulfillment by blending your service concerns with
social and business interests.
To qualify for membership in Soroptimist
International of Willimantic, a woman should:
(a) live or work within the territorial limits of the club;
(b) be working in a profession or business or in an occupation of
comparable status or responsibilities to those of a person working in
a profession or business (regular member);
(c) be recently retired from or temporarily or permanently out of work
from a profession or business or an occupation of comparable status or
responsibilities to those of a person working in a profession or
business (retired/unemployed member); or
(d) be embarking on a career in a profession or business or occupation
of comparable status or responsibilities of a person working in a
profession or business (embarking member).
Some
benefits of Soroptimist membership are:

involvement in local, national and international service projects;

professional growth and leadership development;

networking for business as well as social interaction
■
heightened awareness and appreciation of cultures throughout the
world;
■ unity and
purpose through working with others to achieve common goals;
■ pride
in knowing membership contributes to and upholds the ideals of world
peace and harmony;

participation in projects addressing the needs of women.
